Canon announces the new Canon CameraWindow application allowing users of selected Canon IXUS digital compact cameras to wirelessly transfer and save their photos and videos to a compatible iOS device such as an Apple iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch®. Once transferred, the files can be shared directly to Facebook and YouTube, or sent to family and friends via e-mail.

The Canon CameraWindow app is expected to be available on the App Store™ in March 2012. Please check back for further information and updates.

Firmware Version 1.0.1.0 incorporates the following fixes and improvements.
Fixes a phenomenon where the AE flickers when shooting movies of a subject with a brightness that sets the ISO speed to between ISO200 and ISO400.
*This phenomenon only occurs in Standard mode (in FullHD image quality) and Super Slow Motion Movie mode (240 fps / 120 fps), and does not occur in other movie modes or still image shooting.
Firmware Version 1.0.1.0 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.0.0.0. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.0.1.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
Please note that, once the camera is updated to the latest version, it cannot be restored to a previous version.
How to Identify Cameras eligible for the Firmware Update:
Please check the serial number on the bottom of the camera.
This firmware update is for products with the following serial numbers.

Products with "0" in the sixth digit from the left 「*****0******」
Among the products with "0" listed in the sixth digit from the left in the serial number, the ones with a black marking inside the battery cover already have the updated firmware, so this update does not apply to those products. These products can be used as is.

Firmware Version 1.0.1.0 incorporates the following fixes and improvements.
Fixes a phenomenon where the shutter speed becomes 1/3200 sec. and the aperture becomes f/5.6 when shooting very bright subjects. After the firmware update, the shutter speed will be 1/4000 and the aperture will be f/6.3 when shooting very bright subjects.
Firmware Version 1.0.1.0 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.0.0.0. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.0.1.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware. Please note that, once the camera is updated to the latest version, it cannot be restored to a previous version.

The feature guide description of the digital zoom function that appears on the LCD monitor of the EOS 600D may need to be clarified slightly. As such, we are considering revising this description.
When using the digital zoom, the image can be magnified while maintaining the full HD image size of [1920×1080]. However, because the image is processed digitally, the higher the magnification, the rougher the image will look.

We have discovered that original image data will disappear on PCs running Windows Vista (the new OS from Microsoft), if TIFF (RAW) images are rotated or edited using the Windows Explorer or Windows Photo Gallery. And this phenomenon occurs only for images shot using the EOS-1D/EOS-1Ds digital SLR cameras. The lost image data cannot be recovered.

To enhance the visibility of the viewfinder on the XF305 and XF300 professional camcorders, the size of the viewfinder and its built-in loupe have been increased. Increasing the size of the viewfinder and loupe, however, has allowed sunlight to easily enter through the viewfinder, causing incident light to converge on the internal display panel inside the camcorder. In rare cases, where sunlight enters continuously for long periods, the LCD display panel may be damaged.
