Firmware Version 1.1.0 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.0.9. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.1.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

We made an announcement in October 2006 about our free repair services to address a problem with the CCD image sensor used in certain Canon digital cameras and digital camcorders. As the service period for some of these models has now ended, kindly note that we will no longer provide such free repair services for the below affected models after the indicated date.

Firmware Version 2.0.0 supports the use of the WFT-E2 / E2A wireless file transmitter with the EOS-1D Mark IV digital SLR camera. If you are using the WFT-E2 / E2A with the EOS-1D Mark III or EOS-1Ds Mark III, you do not need to update the firmware.
Please note that if the firmware version of the WFT-E2/ E2A is Version 1.0.1 or earlier, the WFT-E2 / E2A cannot be used with the EOS-1D Mark IV and a firmware update message will appear on the camera's LCD monitor...

We have discovered that original image data will disappear on PCs running Windows Vista (the new OS from Microsoft), if TIFF (RAW) images are rotated or edited using the Windows Explorer or Windows Photo Gallery. And this phenomenon occurs only for images shot using the EOS-1D/EOS-1Ds digital SLR cameras. The lost image data cannot be recovered.
